Recalibrating your lens: The Continuum of Computer Science in Middle School

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Not one more thing! You know your content and you have a million standards to cover so why do you need to add the VA Computer Science Standards into your classroom? The session will approach this question through the lens of equity and access with a focus on 21st-century skills. We will debunk the scariness of “computer science” by breaking it down into problem-solving strategies that all students should be exposed to in middle school. We will discuss and demonstrate multiple opportunities for integration to help you visualize how computer science can support your core content while creating opportunities that are engaging for your students and easy for you to manage. No computer science skills are needed!
